Has also called mum and dad :)
And yes, my updates are lousy, but I'm on vacation.
Alice in Wonderland
Have to have to have to see the new Alice in Wonderland by Tim Burton. Although I'm pretty sure it can't live up to the expectations. And since it was also supposed to be based on the game American McGees Alice (or something similar), I don't think it'll be how you expect it, or at least not how I would picture it. Still, premiere March 5th next year.
This would be somthing of a trailer for the game, but it's really old - I can't remember when I played it, but years ago.
Alemania :)
¡Viva México!
Mexico begun the war of independence against the Spanish colonial power in 1810, led by the priest Miguel de Hidalgo.
As it is seen as inititated on the 16th of September this is now known as the Grito de Dolores, which is still repeated by the president and other local poltical leaders throughout Mexico, and this is the date for the official fiesta de la independencia.
The war for independence lasted for eleven years, and finally in 1821 Mexico was declared independent.
Mañana, mañana :)
The others are planning some trip to Guadalajara for tomorrow, apparently really cheap flights. Just a bit jealous, although I'm going to a place way better! ♥
Plan for tonight will be BBQ later on, don't think we'll make it to the Macro Plaza for the Grito de Dolores, but I don't mind. Also determined not to be hangover for the flight tomorrow, done that, been there, and it is not recommended.

I ♥ Europe
So, we've had the electricity gone for a while today, there is still no warm water - but poison is set out for the rat, so if we're lucky there will be rat-corpses lying around in a few days. Great. I love Europe. Ha - anyone else thinking Christer Sjögren, Sweden's own casanova... :P
Just one day, and 20 hours of travelling - and then I'm there! ♥
Packing. Sort of.
Same every time I go somewhere - WHAT do I have to bring? ? ? Why is it so difficult...? At least there's not super much to choose from here, didn't bring that much after all. But still.
Btw found another thing i need. :P
Hungry?

Fiesta

Back from the dead
Went to some fiesta yesterday, was really fun - even though I had to go to bed and get some sleep before to make it.. don't know why I'm so tired nowadays : /
Ok will indulge in laundry and try not to fall asleep again.

Narco-state
What kind of place am I living in..? Really, this country is scarily different sometimes.
Apparently there is a 'rumour' going around that there will be some kind of narco settlements this weekend - so it would be a bad idea going to clubs etc. Well, I'll take that advice, have no wish of dying just yet. And this is also apparently something that 'happens every now and then'. Great.
Other thing - had three partial presentations today, so now I'm slowly dying from headache and tiredness.
INTE ok.

In the kitchen, on the counter, pretty much in my breakfast.
Cute

Just me

Here's on, well, honestly they all look pretty much the same haha... what don't you do to avoid studying? And will you look at that, now I almost have to go soon[ish] anyway! Amazing how things work out. :P
Coffee problems?

Can globalization please reach tv4, tack?
Right, I'm busy studying. Think this is typical exam syndrome - I can also feel the Sims practically reaching out to me from the computor. F-O-C-U-S

Mexico - safest country in the world.
This Saturday, going on Sunday, at the disco La Rumba in central Monterrey ten heavily armed people entered and kidnapped a federal agent. Nobody apparently got hurt, but shots were fired and these people seemed to be in some way drug related.
Funny thing is I was supposed to go there this weekend, but since I didn't we'd go the upcoming weekend instead. I don't think so. Read the article here.
On the bright side of life!
Trying to keep the spirit up despite all the raining... with the umbrella it's working fine, just that my feet get drenched :P

Bad day.

Studying

Hemma på min gata i stan...
Sensing a National Day coming up...?

Justice!
Justice does apparently exist sometimes. A 30-yearold man died during the weekend during bull fights in Spain. He was speared by the bull and died at hospital from his injuries. You can read the article here. It is in Swedish, but I'm sure there is more to read in El País or so.
I don't know why it is taking the European Union so f***ing long to force a change in Spain. ¡Cambia - o fuera!
New York!

Tickets booked for November!! :)
The Future
As in mine. I think I have found it - it's pink and it's pretty...and possibly a bit too much :P
Hello Kitty fan to the extreme... I could totally live there.
Break-in
Have to do some serious studying now (Why, why, are Sundays always last minute panicate studying??).
Energy deficit.

The Secret Door
So I couple of nights ago I was all alone in the kitchen, minding my own business.. when suddenly I discover something, and I've never seen it before. In the kitchen, there is a door. I have never seen it before, which in itself is really strange.. I mean, it must have always been there.
I tried it, but it was locked. So I knocked (you never know) - but no one opened, no giant lion, no wizard, and there was no magic fairy forest suddenly appearing. I wont give up hope though, some day.. So basically what I wanted to communicate was that if I am one day suddenly not here anymore, the door has probably opened to another world and I'll be off doing adventures. Just so you know.
Wonderwall - Oasis
God I'm active!

Seriously tired but off to the gym for some running - on a Saturday morning! What happened to Matilda...? Don't worry, I'll overcompensate with chocolate today anyway. It's Saturday - lördagsgodis!! :)
Sushi!

Alex and Cristian.
I'm melting, I'm melting!
Plan for tonight: sushi! I've never tried, so we'll go eat that tonight. If the rain doesn't make us stay in that is..

Back from the Darkness
Right or obligation?
We're discussing citizenship in one of the classes - posing the question if the right to vote is in fact a right or an obligation?
Of course it is a right in a democratic society, but many also claim that it is our responsibility as citizens to participate acitively by voting.
However, in many Latin American countries they actually take the obligation thing a step further. In Ecuador you get a voting certificate to prove that you have participated and voted - and for every election you neglect to vote in, there will be a fine. Even more amazing - if you don't vote and hence don't have the certificate, you are not allowed to leave the country, but will be stopped at the border/passport control.
Maybe that is necessary in countries where democracy is too young and too fragile to be taken for granted?
Sleep, please?
Colibri!
Campus really is a world of its own.. next to the flower bush there was a Bambi walking around.. Outside the walls of Tec. the only animals existing would be rats and cochroaches. I prefer the artificial wild life then, with the colibries :)

Gringo!
Know where that comes from?
Well, apparently (picture me as a history teacher) it's a term that was used for American troops sometimes around the Independence war of Mexico. As the war was developing American troops wandered across the Río Grande to see what was going on, all wearing fancy green uniforms. As the Mexixans didn't want them there, a common phrase of protest became "Green Go!" .... hence Gringo. [lecture done]
Swedish Mexico
We're on the export, but quite franklky I'm not sure we should be so happy about it in this case. I was walking by the spinning class at the gym, and was quite surprised to hear Swedish music being played! And the very best, that is.

Die bitch, die.

Hurricane Season!
Our teacher just sent us home due to expected heavy rainfall the next hours. Personally I suspect he wanted to go home earlier, but I also don't want to risk drowning in the streets here... apparently draining isn't always a Mexican specialty.
In the papers there are also alot about the hurricane season we are apparently entering at the moment - obviously by the coasts, Baja California will get a really big one tomorrow or on Wednesday I hear - Jimena. I don't think there's anything to worry about, although there will be alot of rain. And if my room floods and ruins my new Converse I will cry.
